Selah
Ask anything. Rooted in Scripture. A calm companion for reading the Bible and for bringing the questions you actually have to it — where the verse is always quoted, never written for you.
Every feature is free. There is no paywall, no locked chapter, and no feature that appears only after payment.
Three parts
Today
A verse for the day, and a way straight back into whatever you were last reading. No streak to break, no badge to lose.
Read
The full sixty-six-book canon, bundled in the app. It opens with no connection, in a quiet reading view with adjustable text size.
Ask
Ask in your own words. Selah searches Scripture first, then offers a reflection that points back to the text — with the passages quoted and the sources shown.
What it refuses to do
An app that puts a language model next to Scripture earns trust by what it declines to assert. These are enforced in the app, not in the copy on this page.
- I
It never writes Scripture.
Every verse is retrieved verbatim from a trusted text. The AI does not paraphrase it and does not invent it. When a reference cannot be resolved against the text, Selah drops it rather than guessing.
- II
It keeps commentary visibly apart from Scripture.
Reflection is set in its own typeface under its own label, so you can tell at a glance which words are the text and which are a machine reading it.
- III
It does not quietly pick a side.
Where traditions read a passage differently, Selah shows the range. Neutrality that hides a preference is worse than an argued one.
- IV
It does not claim authority it has none of.
Selah is a study aid, not a pastor, a priest, or a counselor — and not medical, psychological, or legal advice. For pastoral care, speak to a person in your own community.
The whole canon, offline
Five public-domain translations are bundled in the app, so reading works with no connection at all.

Deuterocanonical books are named in the interface, but their text is not yet included. Selah will not quote a text it does not have.
Free, with an optional way to support it.
If Selah has been worth something to you, an optional subscription keeps it running and independent — $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year. There are no ads and your data is not sold. Subscribers do not unlock anything; every feature stays free either way.
